Hello I have installed this game recently and I have installed this game without any issue but while launching game from Steam I get the error message saying that:” MapViewOfFile failing” and along with this some time I get error message saying that:” This game is currently unavailable”. Due to this error message I am not able to play this game. Can anyone suggest me how to get ride this issue. I have tried to reinstall the game and updated the all drivers but doesn’t helped me to solve mine issue.

Ok first of all I would like to make sure you have updated the all driver and along with the DirectX, PhysX, and Visual C++ because these all application or software need to update to run stem properly. So first try to update everything as above mention and then your issue will get solved, if this doesn’t help you to solve you then, This error may be caused by having certain Steam files set to Read Only and to solve this issue exit stem and after that go to the location where you have installed the steam: Typically C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files\Valve. Now here make right click on the steam folder and after that select the properties. Now on the properties make check mark on the Read-Only checkbox and after that make click on apply button to save the setting, now make uncheck mark on the Read-Only checkbox and then click on the ok button. Now once you done restart the steam. I hope this help you...

Have you tried to launch game's .exe directly through installation folder: go to the C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Legend of Grimrock, now here make double click on the game exe file and after that make sure your getting the error message or not. As you said that your getting the This game is currently unavailable error message, this might be due to firewall, antivirus or router. So I would like to suggest you to disable the all third party program like antivirus and firewall while launching games from steam and after that make sure your able to solve your issue.

Even I have faced this same issue on mine game and I have just renamed the ClientRegistry.blob file on steam folder and after that I have solved mine issue. So I would like to suggest you to remove ClientRegistry.blob file from steam folder. To do this first go to the steam directory, by default: C:\Program Files\Steam. Now locate to the ClientRegistry.blob and rename this file to ClientRegistryOld.blob and after that just restart the steam, that’s it
if this doesn't help you to solve you're issue then i would like to try to Data Execution Prevention on your system and after that test your problem: go to start and after that make click on the control panel. now on the control panel go to the System and after that select Advanced . now on Advanced go to Performance, then choose Data Execution Prevention. now here make click on the "Add", navigate to C:\Program Files\Steam (or your default Steam directory), and add Steam.exe to the exception list. along with this i would like to suggest you to add .exe's for the game you are seeing issues with. the game exe file wil be in Steam\steamapps\common\Legend of Grimrock or \Steam\steamapps\

Gone through this same issue and I have solved mine issue by Verify integrity of game cache and so therefore I would like to suggest you to make Verify integrity of game cache and after that go through your issue. To Verify integrity of game cache load stem and after that go to the Library section, on Library section make right click on the game and after that select the properties. Now on the properties go to the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache button. This will take some time and once you finish the process the Check Window will automatically exit. Now start the steam and let me know.

There are several programs which interrupt steam game so therefore I would like to suggest you to make Disable Background Applications which not useful. To Disable Background Applications you can go through these steps: program like antivirus, firewall, nProtect GameGuard, Nvidia Network Access Manager/Firewall will cause error while playing games on steam. To disable all this make click on start and after that click on run. Now on the run type: msconfig and after that make click on ok button. Now you will get the system configuration utility windows and under that go to general tab. Now on general tab make click Selective Startup button and after that make uncheck mark on Load Startup items (or Load Startup Group items) box. Now go to service tab and after that make click Hide all Microsoft services check box and then click on Disable all button. Once you finish all these steps just save all setting while doing this you will get confirmation to reboot the system.
