What are the steps to reslove the web page saving error
I am using IE and firefox in my pc. Last time when i was surfing on the internet, i tried to save a web pages for a reference. I got the error that unable to save web page. What can be the reason behind this. Then i tried the same in firefox. The same thing is happening. Now how can i save pages from the internet. Any answer please reply.

I think the issue is when you save a webpage you not giving the proper extension while saving the page. When click on save as in your internet explorer do the below steps :
Save your web page using*.htm or *.html format
For web archives save the page using *.mht format.

When a user saves a web page, the view of theweb pages in IE is created by using Ms Office Visio 2003 Save as web feauture. After this may the the links not work properly.
Normally you get the message :
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site file://file_path/vml_1.htm Operation aborted.
To clear this matter follow these steps :
Open you Internet Explorer> Go to File Menu > Click Save as Web Page.
Give a name and location.
Click on Publish.
Go to tab > click to select a format other than VML (Vector Markup Language) in the Output formats list.
Click on OK.
Now restart you browser and save you webpage.

I was too having the same issue with my Mozilla Firefox browser. When i tried to save the page it gives error and don't save the message. To remove this problem of message you can do the following. First close your firefox browser.
Navigate to your c drive and follow the path - C:\Document Setting\%user account%\Application data\Mozilla\Profiles\xxxxxx.default\downloads.rdf.
Delete the file “downloads.rdf
After deleting restart your browser. And when you save the page you will now not receive the message.

Just do this :
Run your Internet Explorer > click on Tools > Windows Updated
The updated will run automatically. If it prompts to download. Download them and install.
After that go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Look for your Internet Explorer and Click on Unistall/Remove.
When a dialog box popup select the Repair Tab. Press OK.
And after that restart your computer.
