I got Sword of the Stars II: Lords of Winter game as gift
Hello friends, a friend was giving away Sots and Sots II for me. Therefore, another set of Paradox for me, I guess. It looks nice and looks like the war in space. But how adequate shipbuilding terraforming colonization? What technology do I need? At first you can only do "normal" colony ships and have no option Terraforming when approaching a new system. As with the games of my paradox, I'm a bit helpless. I looked in the Wiki, but could not find the information you want. So maybe you can help me a little? Thank you.

To obtain a Sword of the Stars planet you just send a colonizing a planet to colonize and order. To accelerate the terraforming of a planet you need to acquire technology in Bio technology tree that gives the increase in speed of terraforming, the population growth and higher planets to colonize climate risk. You can also improve their destroyer settlers by teaching size of suspended animation, and then have access to cruise ships of the class can have access to biological transfer technology that allows you to build cruise ships colony size. Just to clarify, the colonization of a planet can only be accelerated by improving technology, sending more than one colony ship or overfishing (depleting the planet's resources); otherwise it will only develop itself as its population increases and improves the planet.

The tutorial told me to colonize a planet, but there is no option to do so. When I start a normal game, I can do. But I think the game is a bit flat. Not. It's no go. You cannot build anything on the planets. Only research and pushing a few sliders. It is getting better in the sequel?

The game can be more combat-oriented. You know you can design your boat may not have many options at first, but then ... And out of action research, boost sliders, organize their ships, the moral care (I guess you have the add-ons), send fleets of mining / colonization fleets / scout fleets / navies, arrange diplomatically design / construction of ships ... I think you should give the game a new chance and as said black warder change the initial settings to get done in less time. And by the way so designing a pioneer in the tutorial (and after the construction of some of them and took them to the planet) and was the colonize planets (planets may have the high and climatic hazards that cannot colonize)

Honestly, the game is more or less exclusively focused on the part of space, things are abstractions on the planet do not know if this ever going to change, but can be good if they did.

Sounds like you are sending your settlers to the planets beyond recognition (with climate risk too high or low) search for visual cues. Well, I could not find exact examples, but basically, the youngest of the planet is and the more is less likely to run into a problem.

Each species has its own aspect of the planet, so it will not help much. The planets can be colonized have cost terraform assigned to them in sweet spot, while those who cannot have "Cost: prohibitive." You can make some of them available for colonization by developing branch in middle of the Biology Bush, but more efficient terraforming. And by "more efficient" I mean, eat your money faster.

That successful capture, well, the idea is, that is the default "icon habitable planet" which is in perfect climate zone will be different depending on the species, and will look like brown rocks baren prohibitive.
