Error message: hal.dll

Error message: hal.dll
Good evening,

In recent days, I wanted to format my PC because of low performance. But now, I have great concerns.

1) I can not install XP: once the first stage is completed (copy of installation files), the error message: hal.dll found.

2) I defective sectors on my hard drive (2.5% or 2GB). how to solve this problem?

I can no longer be formatted in FAT32 ...

Is it the fault of bad sectors or the hard disk is HS?

hello, as you tried instead to NTFS format? because for XP, Fat32 is not top

it is perfectly formatted to NTFS. but not FAT32 ...
