Lost all contacts in windows live messenger

Lost all contacts in windows live messenger
Hi friends,
I am regular MSN user. I updated my messenger to the latest version. When i sign in, there is no contacts listed in contact list. I lost all my contacts. How can i fix this?

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

If the contacts are removed from your principal Messenger contacts list, you might still have them in the Hotmail contact list. To check this, you can log in at http://mail.live.com/ with your Windows Live ID.

Try to reinstall the current version. If it doesn't work then, downgrade to other version and take backup or copy all contacts in the list. Again install the latest one and copy all your contact there.

You are there in others contact list, so as soon as they start talking to you, you will be able to re-add them from the conversation window. You can also check the Allow list. Open messenger, Go to Menu =>Tools =>Options =>Privacy. there yo get two lists In the left one, there might be your contacts still. You can re-add them from there, by right-clicking each one and selecting "Add to contacts".

I just recently lost all my contact list but i have now found them the version i got is windows live 2008/2009.........
step 1 .......Go tools click on options
step 2
click on ...........Privacy

then you shoud see your allow list and also block list
step 3
you just click on the name in your list then right click his allows you to add back in messenger
